Do you associate paintings as masculine or feminine?
Normally I don't, but this painting was more delicate not only because of the pastel colors, but the color palette had me go lighter on the brushwork and choosing my strokes carefully.

The color scheme in a painting is so important to me- do the colors harmonize with each other? Is there a lot of contrast or only a little? Is it warm? Cool? Gray or full of bright light and deep shadows?
All of these things will effect the way in which the paint is applied, almost instinctively.
Of course if you do have a double espresso in the morning, I don't recommend painting something delicate, as your hand may begin to shake!
Really though, these beautiful coffee cups, that are so small that you have to pinch them between your thumb and forefinger in order to drink your coffee, come in every color combination imaginable.
Which makes them perfect for painting.

I'm sure the coffee tastes even better drunk out of these gorgeous little cups. Lovely painting.
Some Italians would say so- or even more that coffee tastes better in glass cups instead of ceramic!
I'm not that extreme about my coffee yet, but I think I am happily addicted.
Thanks for your comments Vandy and for following.
