The soft light of this place peeking into the Roman Forum in the distance made it a great painting spot.
Rome is full of views, everywhere you turn could be a painting (if you don't get run over by a car first!).
This composition wasn't mine though, it was chosen by a couple who commissioned a painting of their street and going there to paint several times I could see why.

This was one of several studies for their commission, in fact it was a surprise! Trying not to get caught by the person it would be gifted to was a challenge.
I came to love this place after having returned several times. There was an older couple who owned of one Italy's famous hardware shops on the corner where I was painting. This is no hardware shop- this is a shop that literally has anything you could ever need or dream up that you need. They even had a gas heater that they tempted me to come in and warm my hands up with every hour or so. I came to grow very fond of them and they suggested I come back soon to do a painting of their shop with all the crazy kitchen gadgets hanging on the street. Great idea. I might wait until spring though.
